West Hartford Homeowners Sue Town After ZBA Rejects Airbnb Plan (patch.com) โ West Hartford homeowners Lisa and Alexander Khan are suing the town after the Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously upheld enforcement orders blocking their short-term Airbnb rentals at 39 Pheasant Hill Drive. They argue West Hartford's regulations don't clearly ban whole-house rentals under 30 days, and have taken their case from Town Hall to Hartford Superior Court, where a judge will now review the board's decision.

PINOCCHIO to Open at Playhouse on Park for Young Audiences (broadwayworld.com) โ Families in West Hartford can look forward to a lively production of Pinocchio at Playhouse on Park from October 31 through November 21, with multiple Saturday showtimes and a special sensory-friendly performance on November 7. The show targets kids in grades Kโ5 but aims to entertain all ages, and the theater is also offering discounted tickets, group rates, and school field trip options through its Literature Alive program.

3. Dominican National With Prior Hartford Drug Conviction Sentenced For Illegal Reentry: Feds (patch.com) โ Federal prosecutors say a Dominican national with a prior Hartford-area drug conviction has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for illegally reentering the U.S., after Homeland Security agents stopped his vehicle in West Hartford during a drug investigation. Authorities allege he was in the country unlawfully and carrying false identification, tying a national immigration case directly to local enforcement activity.

4. Eversource Hartford Marathon draws thousands of runners, marks new records (wfsb.com) โ Runners filled the streets Saturday for the Eversource Hartford Marathon, with the full course starting and ending downtown and carrying thousands through West Hartford neighborhoods along the way. About 11,000 participants took part across the marathon, half marathon, and Charity 5K, where several repeat champions and record-setters highlighted a big day for regional running.
