WEST HARTFORD, CT — West Hartford's two public high schools are among the top 20 in Connecticut in Niche's 2027 school rankings, while the town's school district placed sixth statewide.
Hall High School was ranked No. 13 among Connecticut's best high schools, while Conard High School came in at No. 17.
New Canaan was ranked No. 1 in the state.
The West Hartford school district, meanwhile, was ranked No. 6 in Connecticut and received an overall grade of A from Niche on its best CT school district list.
The rankings are part of Niche's 2027 Best Schools and Districts in America analysis, which evaluated 93,000 public schools, 30,000 private schools and 11,000 school districts nationwide.
Niche said its public high school rankings draw on data from the U.S. Department of Education and state statistics, along with millions of reviews from students, parents and teachers.
Its school district rankings similarly use federal education data and reviews from students and parents.
Factors considered include state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, teacher quality, and school district ratings, among other measures.
Niche said SAT and ACT scores were removed from this year's rankings to reflect a broader move away from standardized test scores in the college admissions process.
