WEST HARTFORD, CT — A section of Farmington Avenue in West Hartford Center will be closed to traffic Monday, Oct. 26, as crews begin road improvements, town officials announced.
Farmington Avenue will be closed between Main Street and Walden Street while crews mill the roadway. A detour will be in place during the work.
Motorists are urged to use caution, reduce speeds in the work zone, and watch for raised utility structures.
Additional traffic and parking restrictions will begin Tuesday, Oct. 27, and continue through Monday, Nov. 2.
During that period, the Farmington Avenue entrance to the municipal parking lot between Mecha and Westfield Bank will be temporarily closed while crews install new curbing and construct a concrete driveway.
The parking lot will remain accessible through its LaSalle Road entrance.
Deliveries will not be permitted inside the parking lot during construction. However, a temporary loading zone will be available on Farmington Avenue.
Town officials said the improvements are intended to enhance access and safety in West Hartford Center.
