The remodeling project includes new fixtures, furniture, and kitchen equipment, along with the introduction of milkshakes and specialty drinks at the West Hartford location for the first time.

The restaurant will continue serving its signature chicken sandwiches, tenders and other menu items.

BIRDCODE specializes in fresh, never-frozen chicken that is brined for 18 to 24 hours, individually hand-breaded and cooked to order.

Customers can choose from several spice levels, ranging from Country, which has no heat, to Code Breaker, the restaurant's spiciest option.

The expanded menu will also feature seasonal offerings, including:

The restaurant's Southern-inspired recipes have roots in the family of co-founder Brandi Killoran, including recipes for chicken, dipping sauces, macaroni and cheese, banana pudding and freshly baked cookies.

"We are grateful to the West Hartford community for embracing us from the beginning, and we are excited to welcome everyone back and bring more of the BIRDCODE experience to the place where it all began," Killoran said in a statement.

Reopening Celebration Planned

To mark the reopening, Country 92.5 (WWYZ) will broadcast a promotional appearance from the restaurant Wednesday, Oct. 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Radio personality Brandon Clay and the station's promotional team will be at the restaurant with music and giveaways.

The restaurant will also offer a Halloween promotion Saturday, Oct. 31, giving customers $5 off any order.

Customers ordering through BIRDCODE's website or mobile app can enter the promotional code BOO at checkout. Customers ordering in person will receive the discount at the register.

Founded in 2020, BIRDCODE operates as a Southern-inspired chicken restaurant brand focused on chicken sandwiches, tenders, sides, and desserts.
