West Hartford Resident Diane Smith Wins Lifetime Achievement Award

Connecticut news reporter, author, radio and TV anchor Diane Smith recently was honored by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) for her more than 25 years of broadcast excellence and community commitment.

Smith, a resident of West Hartford, was the recipient of the NATAS Silver Circle Award citing her enduring contribution to the vitality of the television industry. 

Smith, currently the anchor and senior producer for program development at CT-N, has also been an Emmy-award  winning anchor and reporter at News 8 WTNH and co-hosted the Morning Show on WTIC-AM 1080.  In addition, her “Positively Connecticut” TV series  is the longest running local TV series in state history and has spawned a series of six books by the same name.

Smith is also currently co-writing a book about solving the American obesity crisis with MSNBC Morning Joe co-host Mike Brzezinski.
