Another National Retailer Closing 19 CT Locations
The business announced it will close all 650 of its locations in the U.S. including their 19 locations in CT.
CONNECTICUT — Dressbarn is closing all 650 of its stores in the United States including its 19 locations in Connecticut. All Dressbarn stores are currently open and conducting business as usual. The company employs 6,800 people.
Customers can continue to shop at Dressbarn, which was founded in 1962, in-store and online and use Dressbarn-branded credit cards for purchases, officials said in a news release. There are no current changes to Dressbarn’s return, refund, or gift card policies.
Steven Taylor, Chief Financial Officer of Dressbarn, said in a press statement, “For more than 50 years, Dressbarn has served women’s fashion needs, and we thank all of our dedicated associates for their commitment to Dressbarn and our valued customers. This decision was difficult, but necessary, as the Dressbarn chain has not been operating at an acceptable level of profitability in today’s retail environment.

Dressbarn associates will be notified when decisions are made about specific store closures and provided with transition support. Dressbarn intends to continue paying its vendors and suppliers in full in the ordinary course for products and services provided to Dressbarn during its wind down process.
