Area's Far East Roots To Be Celebrated In West Hartford

Four events this month are scheduled as part of West Hartford's celebration of Asian-American and Pacific Islander Month.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — May is Asian-American and Pacific Islander Month, with the theme of “Advancing Leaders Through Innovation,” with West Hartford hosting for events in honor of the month.

It pays homage to "visionaries and trailblazers who have shaped AAPI history and continue influencing our future," wrote the town.

As a result, folks are invited to four events in West Hartford:

• On Friday, May 17, East-West Grille on Wheels will be at West Hartford Town Hall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 50 S. Main St., West Hartford

• AAPI 5K – Saturday, May 18, 9 a.m., West Hartford Town Hall lot. The 5K route uses the newly completed portion of the Trout Brook Trail. The registration fee is $25. To register and learn more, go to this link.
