Armed Robbery Investigated In West Hartford

Police are asking for help with identifying the suspect.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — West Hartford Police are asking for the public’s assistance with identifying a suspect in connection to the armed robbery of a Shell Gas Station on Saturday night. Police responded to the gas station, located at 195 Prospect Avenue, at about 7 p.m. on May 26 on the report of an armed robbery. The clerk told police the suspect went to the counter and demanded money, while implying that he had a gun.

The clerk opened the register and the suspect reached over and took an undetermined amount of money, according to police. The suspect then fled in a vehicle prior to police arrival.

The suspect is described by police as a black male around 6-feet tall with glasses. He was wearing a white V-neck T-shirt, dark-colored cargo sweatpants and flip-flops. He is estimated to be 30 to 40 years old.

The vehicle is described as a newer model Suspect Vehicle is a newer model Hyundai Tuscan bright orange color with a CT registration plate.
