Army Of West Hartford School Children March To Deliver Goodwill

Morley Elementary School's annual Morley Red Wagon Food Delivery event Thursday helped fill the shelves of the West Hartford Food Pantry.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — An army of children marched to West Hartford Town Hall Thursday morning pulling wagons and armed with goodwill.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Morley Red Wagon Food Delivery for the West Hartford Food Pantry.

Local officials said "on this beautiful sunny morning," pupils in grades K-2, parents, and staff walked over 1 mile to town hall pulling 60 wagons loaded with more than 2,000 nonperishable food items.

"Over the past 30 years, the Morley School community has donated over 75,000 food items to the West Hartford Food Pantry, and their generosity has inspired countless others to donate to the pantry as well," wrote the Town of West Hartford Thursday.

"Their donations provide a significant boost to our Food Pantry’s stock, and the Town is grateful for their many years of generosity."
