Be Mindful of What You Are Working For!
It's getting tougher out there. We're going to have to be more aware of what we're workinig for if we're going to lead a fulfilling life!
We are all good, hardworking, honest people, and our efforts to contribute to society should be properly rewarded, right? Right! However, this new global market that we presently live in is tougher than ever. Not only do we have to continue to work hard, but we also have to work smarter than ever before just to maintain our present life style.
In Thomas Friedman’s best selling books, The World is Flat and Hot, Flat, and Crowded he explains how this new generation most likely will end up living in a smaller house, and driving a smaller car than their parents did. Some think that this new generation will be the first generation of Americans that won’t financially pass out their parents.
So, where does this leave today’s American youth? Well, sorry to say this, but it looks like you may be working harder for less. So, if money is the only thing that you’re working for, then you may find yourself someday burnt out, and still monetarily unfulfilled in this new world economy.

We’re going to have to change our mindset of what work and money means to us. We need to find work that is meaningful, and more important to us than our biweekly pay check and Friday nights out on the town. Next, we need to stop blowing all of our money on throw-away items that we only use a couple of times. In addition, we’re also going to have to get smarter about saving our money and investing our money. My Granddaddy once told me that I could only work so many hours in one day. However, it’s unlimited on how hard our money can work for us through good investments.
Now teens, go learn, lead, and lay the way to a better world for all of us. Remember that we should work at what we love, and not just at making more money. Besides, we have physical limits of how hard we can work, and in contrast, money doesn’t. And once again, thanks in advance for all that you do, and all that you will do…
