Bicyclist Hurt After Being Hit By Vehicle In West Hartford: PD
The incident Thursday night temporarily shut down traffic in town and is still under investigation by the WHPD.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Local police are continuing to investigate a collision between a motor vehicle and a bicyclist Thursday night that sent one to the hospital.
According to the West Hartford Police Department Friday, officers at 7:40 p.m. Thursday were called to the area near 1555 New Britain Ave. for a reported motor vehicle collision that involved an adult male bicyclist.
First responders arrived on the scene and provided medical aid to the bicyclist, while the vehicle operator refused medical attention on the scene, police said.

According to the WHPD, the bicyclist suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital, while the operator of the motor vehicle remained on the scene.
New Britain Avenue was closed to eastbound motor vehicle traffic and detours remained in place until approximately midnight, when traffic resumed normal operations.

The West Hartford Police Department Traffic Division Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the incident.
"WHPD would like to thank the Newington Police Department for assisting with traffic direction while road closures were in place," wrote the WHPD Friday.
