Services offered by the company include help with personal care, bathing, errands, meal preparation, and other daily activities.

Caring Senior Service founder and CEO Jeff Salter said Thomas' caregiving background and ties to the area were factors in the company's move into Connecticut.

“Taniesha’s background as a caregiver, combined with her strong local connections and passion for senior care, makes her the perfect partner for our Connecticut expansion,” Salter said. “As more families seek trusted in-home options, her leadership will help us meet this growing need.”

The company cited demographic changes in the Hartford region as one reason for expanding into the market.

According to USAFacts data cited by Caring Senior Service, people 65 and older accounted for 19.5% of the Hartford metropolitan area's population in 2024.

The West Hartford opening represents a significant geographic expansion for Caring Senior Service, which was founded by Salter in San Antonio, Texas, in 1991 and began franchising in 2002.

The company now has more than 50 locations nationwide, according to the announcement.
