BTC Presents a New York City Caliber Production of 'The Nutcracker'
Performing with professional dancers from around the world in West Hartford.

Ballet Theatre Company presents its 13th annual production of The Nutcracker that will delight audiences with local area dancers and feature professional dancers from around the world!
BTC’s Artistic Director Roman Baca has assembled a world-class roster of professional dancers. The cast includes Steven Ezra, dancing the lead role of the Sugar Plum Fairy’s Cavalier, who also performs with the shadow-dance group Catapult on America’s Got Talent, as well as toured internationally with the Connecticut based illusion-dance troupe Momix. Returning to the cast and dancing the role of Arabian Coffee Soloist is Michael Wright who spent most of the year traveling with Shen-Wei Dance to Russia, and China.
Jeffrey Salzburg will add a new and refreshing look to our lighting design this year. His work was mentioned by The New York Times as, “ingeniously atmospheric,” while another review noted, “Jeffrey E. Salzberg enhances the atmosphere with beautiful effects.”

Another addition will be a new hand-painted backdrop inspired by stunning Victorian-era parlor rooms designed by Stephanie Bell and built by CT Stage and Movie Supply. And again this year, BTC’s The Nutcracker will amaze audiences with our breathtaking professionally designed custom costumes by master designers Tracy Dorman and Catherine Savino.

“Our production of The Nutcracker has it all: a heartfelt story, a technically magical production, and professional quality dancing”, Baca described, “It’s a New York sized production in an intimate theater. You can see every dancer’s expressive qualities, their technical brilliance, as well as the intricate details of the stunning costumes. At the Hoffman Auditorium every seat is a good seat.”
Ballet Theatre Company (BTC), Greater Hartford’s leading ballet company, known for its professional ballet productions and magical repertoire will deliver six performances of The Nutcracker for all ages at the University of Saint Joseph’s Hoffman Auditorium.
