Candidates For Office Nominated In West Hartford
Local Democratic and Republican town committees have nominated their slates for the Nov. 5 municipal election.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — Election season is underway in West Hartford, as candidates for town council and Board of Education have been endorsed by their respective political parties.
Democrats gathered last Thursday and nominated all five current members of the town council to run for re-election: Shari Cantor, Beth Kerrigan, Leon Davidoff, Ben Wenograd and Liam Sweeney. Carol Blanks is also seeking a council seat.
Board of Education appointee Amanda Aronson is seeking election, as are Democrats Sean Passan and Ari Steinberg.

On the Republican side, incumbent council members Chris Williams and Mary Fay will be joined on the ballot by Alberto Cortes, Rick Bush and Lee Gold. Current school board member Mark Zydanowicz was also endorsed by the GOP at its gathering Monday night.
All nine town council seats are up for grabs every two years, while this year's Board of Education contest involves three seats in the regular election and one in a special election.
