Changes Proposed For Heavy Traffic Area In West Hartford
The town will host a public informational meeting on the proposed changes and officials want feedback from residents.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The town will hold a public informational meeting to explain and receive feedback from residents on a proposal to improve traffic in the heavily congested area at the intersection of Mountain Road at Albany Avenue. The proposed project will widen Mountain Road north and south of Albany Avenue to provide a dedicated left turn lane, a through lane, and a shared through/right turn lane in each direction, according to town officials.
“The traffic signal will also be replaced as part of the project,” officials wrote in a press release. “These improvements will provide additional intersection capacity, which will accommodate the existing and future vehicular demand, and improve safety.”
The public informational meeting will take place on Monday, Oct. 29 at 6:30 p.m. in Room 400 at the West Hartford Town Hall, 50 South Main Street. Deaf and hearing impaired persons wishing to attend the meeting and requiring an interpreter may make arrangements by contacting the Engineering Division at (860) 561-7540 at least five working days prior to the meeting.
