Comcast Business Names PhotoBert of West Hartford as Regional Winner in Innovations 4 Entrepreneurs program

Comcast Business and Inc. Magazine recently announced that West Hartford business PhotoBert has been named a regional winner in “Innovations 4 Entrepreneurs,” a national competition meant to award more than $600,000 in cash and services to aspiring entrepreneurs who are leveraging technology to enhance customer and employee experiences.

PhotoBert owner Bert Sirkin was recently on hand at the Comcast Business booth at the Connecticut Business Expo, where he was recognized during a special Comcast Business-hosted Chamber mixer.

Each of the 32 regional winners will receive a $5,000 cash award plus Comcast Business Internet and TV services for two years along with a $2,500 allocation for other Comcast services. In addition, winners will receive services for one year from Comcast’s Upware partners Cisco, Microsoft, Symantec, DocuSign, Soonr and Swiftpage Engage.

From the 32 regional winners, six will be named grand prize winners and, in addition to cash and services, will receive an additional $20,000 cash award as well as an all-expenses-paid trip to New York City, where they and a guest will have the opportunity to receive one-on-one consulting with four nationally recognized business experts: Marcus Lemonis, businessman, investor, TV personality and Philanthropist; Robert Irvine, Celebrity Chef and Entrepreneur; and Comcast senior executives. They will also receive a VIP tour of 30 Rockefeller Center and an awards dinner prepared by Chef Irvine.

“Every day, technology increasingly becomes a critical component of how businesses of all sizes manage their company and make improvements that increase efficiency and encourage growth and profitability,” said Charlie Tzoumas, regional vice president for Comcast Business in Connecticut. “Through the Innovations 4 Entrepreneurs program, we are able to award businesses that are already committed to embracing technology to improve the experience of both their customers and employees, by supplying them with the funding and tools necessary to more fully realize that commitment and inspire other local businesses to do the same.”

PhotoBert was chosen as a regional winner based on an essay they submitted highlighting their use of technology to enhance customer or employee experience. Entries were judged by John Jantsch, Marketing Consultant, Speaker and best-selling author of Duct Tape MarketingThe Commitment Engine and The Referral Engine and Anita Campbell, Founder, CEO and Publisher of Small Business Trends.

PhotoBert seeks to simplify digital photography by helping users understand what their equipment is capable of and how to best use its features; de-mystifying complicated digital photography equipment;  helping consumers take better pictures that they are proud to show; and providing hand-picked, inexpensive “must have” digital photography accessories that the owners themselves have used firsthand.

The six grand prize winners will be announced the week of June 30, 2014 with the New York awards event planned for August 26, 2014. For more information, please visit http://business.comcast.com/i4e.
