Conard Beats Hall in Historic Mayor's Cup (With Photos)
Senior Nate Richam scored five touchdowns and set a school record in the highest-scoring Mayor's Cup game ever.

Senior Nate Richam enjoyed a record-setting day and led the Conard football team to its first Mayor’s Cup championship in five years with a 66-47 victory over Hall at McKee Stadium on Saturday.
Richam rushed for a school-record 468 yards on 28 carries and scored five touchdowns in the highest-scoring Mayor’s Cup game ever, according to the Hartford Courant.
The game was also the 15th-highest scoring game in state history, according to GameTimeCT.

“Today is special,” Richam told Derek Turner of GameTimeCT. “Today is one of those days you leave it all on the line.”
Conard coach Matt Cersosimo told Tom Yantz of the Hartford Courant that Richam is “a special player” and “what he did out there, sometimes you don’t believe it.”

Declan Flaherty had two touchdown passes for Conard, which improved to 8-2 and can qualify for the Class LL playoffs if it gets the help it needs on Thanksgiving.
Hall was led by quarterback Matthew Wilcox, who completed 26-of-48 passes for 359 yards and four touchdowns. Theo Blaschinski ran for 146 yards on 26 carries and scored three touchdowns (two rushing, one receiving) for the Warriors (5-5).
