Confrontation At Youth Basketball Game Leads To Arrest: Police
A woman was arrested and police are investigating after a man threatened a referee over a call at a youth basketball game in West Hartford.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A Hartford woman was arrested after a confrontation at an eighth-grade travel basketball game Sunday evening in West Hartford, according to police. A referee’s call during a game between West Hartford and East Hartford at Hall High angered some spectators who reportedly became belligerent toward the referee, police said.
A woman was recording the confrontation with her cellphone after the game was called and the spectators were leaving. Another woman, later identified as Marcelie Ramos, was walking by and became agitated about the filming, according to police.
Ramos is accused of approaching the woman and “forcefully” swinging at and swatting the phone away with her hands, police said in a press release. No injuries were reported.
