Connex Supports Operation Fuel, Inc.’s Statewide Utility Bill Assistance Program with $700 Donation

Contributions from visitors to Connex Credit Union’s Meriden branch during the final quarter of 2016 were recently tallied and donated to a local non-profit. As part of its philanthropic initiative, ConnexCares, Connex Credit Union’s Coins-for-Change program collected more than $700 for Operation Fuel, Inc.

The Coins-for-Change program charges a five percent fee to members, and a seven percent fee to non-members, to use Connex’s coin-cashing machines. Each fiscal quarter, this money is donated to different charitable organizations in the local community, contributing more than $13,000 annually.

“Operation Fuel is immensely grateful for this support from Connex Credit Union,” said Clayton Jason, major gifts officer, Operation Fuel, Inc. “This generous donation will allow us to assist Connecticut residents in need of energy assistance this winter.”
