Cool Off At West Hartford Family Pool Night

Town hosting event tonight at 6 p.m. at Beachland Pool, with attendees able to also learn about new community/senior center project.

WEST HARTFORD, CT— There's no sugarcoating it.

It's hot out there, the mid-90s to be exact.

As a result, West Hartford Leisure Services and Cornerstone Aquatics Center Thursday afternoon reminded the public that they are offering a "Family Pool Night," tonight, Thursday, Aug. 4, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Beachland Pool, 847 Quaker Lane.

The event will feature more than just a way to beat the heat. It will features games, relays and other fun activities. Entrance fees apply.

And it will offer folks a chance to have their say regarding some new recreational possibilities in town.

Tecton Architects will have a table there for residents to learn more about the new community center, senior center and library project.

"We want you to be a part of the process that helps shape the vision of this new facility," the town wrote Thursday afternoon.

The town and Tecton Architects are conducting a functional program and feasibility study for a new Elmwood community center, senior center and library to be located at 100 Mayflower St. adjacent to Beachland Park.
