Crime Rate Decreases in West Hartford: Report
A new state report shows the crime rate is down in West Hartford over the past 5 years and reveals the most common type of crime reported.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Crime rates in West Hartford have decreased by 12 percent over the past five years, according to a report conducted by the Connecticut National Incident-Based Reporting System.
West Hartford Police report that CTNIBRS, the agency responsible for collecting and reporting on crime trends in the state, issued their five-year report on Wednesday.

The most common type of crime reported in West Hartford are thefts from unlocked vehicles and reports of shoplifting.
The most common complaint and concern from residents continues to be neighborhood traffic concerns.

“The department reminds residents to make sure to lock their cars and pocket the keys and to drive responsible,” Lt. Ted Stoneburner said in an email.
