CT Rep. Fleischmann Issues Statement Regarding Employee Bargaining Units

Rep. Andrew Fleischmann, West Hartford, issued a statement on the Appropriations Committee vote regarding CT employee bargaining units.

From the Connecticut General Assembly: Rep. Andrew Fleischmann (D-West Hartford) issued the following statement on the Appropriations Committee vote to approve an agreement between the executive branch and state employee bargaining units on Connecticut’s long-term pension payment obligations.

“The Appropriations Committee vote represents a key step forward in stabilizing Connecticut’s long-term obligations to our employees. It replaces a risky “balloon payment plan” with a much more fiscally responsible, level-payment approach. I look forward to both chambers of the General Assembly approving this critical agreement, which will put us on track to balancing the state budget, fulfilling pension obligations and protecting taxpayers,” said Representative Fleischmann, who is the House chairman of the Education Committee and a long-time member of the Appropriations Committee.
