'Dr. Wonderful' Prescribes Family Fun For West Hartford This Saturday

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A local theater group is hosting two special shows of a popular children's musical this Saturday, Feb. 15, with fun for the whole family on the docket.

"The Amazing Adventures of Dr. Wonderful (And Her Dog)" by Lauren Gunderson and music by Bree Lowdermilk is touring schools across Connecticut via the Playhouse Theatre Academy’s "Literature Alive on the Road program."

And this Saturday, Feb. 15, Playhouse on Park, 244 Park Raod, will host two public performances at 1 and 4 p.m.

This production is part of Playhouse on Park’s Theatre for Young Audience Series and is recommended for Grades Pre-K to Grade 4, but it offers fun for the entire family.

The play, dubbed "a mystery science musical for young audiences," is directed and choreographed by Robert Mintz, with music direction by Robert Tomasulo.

Guests will be able to join "Dr. Wonderful" and her amazing adventure team of Newton (the dog), Ben (the human), and Mom (the Mom).

Tickets are $22.50 to $25 plus a $2.50 processing fee. Group rates are available.
