Electric Propulsion Vehicles To Be On Display In West Hartford

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The quiet power of electrical propulsion will be celebrated in West Hartford this Sunday, Oct. 6.
That is the day of the "West Hartford Electric Showcase" at West Hartford Town Hall, 50 S. Main St., West Hartford., part of the 14th Annual National Drive Electric Week.

One of the event organizers is the local Sustainable West Hartford organization.
Electric vehicles, electric bikes, electric lawn equipment, an electric bus, and information on electric heat pumps will be displayed during the event.

It will take place behind town hall in the parking lot from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the popular Blue Back Farmer’s Market occurring simultaneously nearby.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from owners and dealers of electric vehicles, bikes, and lawn equipment, and ask questions about owning and operating the technology.
The Town of West Harford’s Ford E-Transit Van will be on display, as will a 24-foot Lyon electric school bus on loan from the Connecticut Technical Education and Career System.
Four e-bikes, courtesy of Berkshire Bike & Board and Ethan Frankel of Bike West Hartford, will also be available for fun, guided test rides in the parking lot.
Jay Stange, representing the Center for Latino Progress’ BiCi Co bike shop in West Hartford, will also be available to support test rides and discuss the state’s bike voucher system.
"Electrification is a key strategy to decarbonize the transportation system, buildings, and other sectors in the United States," reads an announcement of the event.
"It is pivotal as the planet breaks heat records to transition to all-electric options. The Inflation Reduction Act also provides rebates for electric vehicles among its many sweeping climate investments."
In the event of inclement weather, the rain date is Sunday, Oct. 13, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the same location.
