Author Signing with David Fitzpatrick

On Thursday, September 13th at 7:00 p.m., Connecticut author David Fitzpatrick will discuss and sign copies of his book, Sharp: A Memoir at Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Blue Back Square - West Hartford.  The book has garnered praise from best-selling author Wally Lamb.  The event is free and open to the public.  Sharp is a tale of hope, a soul-baring quest of a lost man who returns to himself, overcomes his demons, and reclaims his life.  David Fitzpatrick, the middle child of five, grew up in Guilford, Connecticut with a loving family and a promising future.  But in his early twenties, Fitzpatrick became consumed by mental illness and started cutting himself with razor blades.  The book chronicles his two-decade bout with mental illness as he juggled several inpatient psychiatric programs, shock treatments, and potent psychotropic drugs. Fitzpatrick graduated from Skidmore College, and earned his MFA degree from Fairfield University in 2011.  His works have been published by The New Haven Review, Barely South Review, and Fiction Weekly.  He lives in Middletown, Connecticut with his wife and fellow writer, Amy Holmes. For additional information on this and other Barnes & Noble events in West Hartford, Connecticut, call 860-236-9900.
