The Mandell JCC presents works from Abigail Kessler-Hanna, MD, Israel Commemorated, in the Chase Family Gallery at the Mandell JCC, Zachs Campus, 335 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, CT. The exhibit runs April 22 through May 31, 2012, with an Opening Reception featuring the artist on Sunday, April 22, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Kessler-Hanna’s original new works are constructed of multimedia collages using cut paper, cheesecloth, Israeli postage stamps, and more. The works explores the flora and fauna of Israel and significant moments in modern Jewish history. Depictions of indigenous natural beauty pay homage to Israel’s spirit of independence. An example of one of her first collage art works, created when she was 9-years old, is featured in the exhibit.
