It’s a Yankees baseball double-header at the Mandell JCC with Game Day! October 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. presented by Howard Siegal & Friends at the Mandell JCC, Zachs Campus, 335 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, CT. RSVP required by Monday, October 10, 2011 due to limited reserved seating.

Fans are invited to step up to the plate to meet award-winning sportswriter and journalist, Jane Leavy, author of the New York Times bestseller The Last Boy: Mickey Mantle and The End of America’s Childhood. The event includes a brunch and an exclusive look at Howard Siegal’s extensive private vintage New York Yankees collection in the Chase Family Gallery, including jerseys, bats, balls, pennants and more. Howard Siegal is a community leader, former Mandell JCC president, and life-long Yankee fan. All proceeds from the event benefit youth sports programs at the Mandell JCC.

Acclaimed author Jane Leavy will speak and sign copies of her biography on American legend, Mickey Mantle. The Last Boy draws on more than five hundred interviews with friends, family, teammates and opponents, while delivering a definitive account of the slugger’s life. “Candid, compassionate…the best of the Mantle biographies” raves Kirkus Reviews.
