Mandell JCC’s Transitional Kindergarten Presents a Unique Perspective on the Rain with The Yellow Umbrella, Thursday, April 26, 2012

Lights, camera, rain! The Mandell JCC’s Beatrice Fox Auerbach Early Childhood Center Transitional Kindergarten (TK) presents a unique perspective on rainy weather with its performance of The Yellow Umbrella, on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. in the Herbert Gilman Theater at the Mandell JCC, Zachs Campus, 335 Bloomfield Avenue, West Hartford, CT.

The script for The Yellow Umbrella was created by the show’s director and TK program’s drama/music teacher, Susan Kirschner-Robinson. Susan developed the play after discovering illustrations of the same name by Jae Soo Lui, and music by Doug Il Sheen. She used famous pieces of poetry, including works by William Shakespeare, Langston Hughes, Robert Louis Stevenson and more, to create the script.

Transitional Kindergarten at the Mandell JCC is a five-day program ideal for children age 5-years, or who may benefit from an additional year of preschool before moving on to Kindergarten.
