Programs Honor Martin Luther King Jr.

The town’s 15th annual celebration of the King’s life runs from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the town hall auditorium.

The keynote speaker will be Dr. Salome Raheim, dean of the University of Connecticut’s School of Social Work. There will also be student speakers and music by the Hall High School Jazz Combo, the Conard High School Gospel Choir and the Sedgwick Sounds. Refreshments will be donated by the Elmwood Senior Center.

The event is sponsored by the West Hartford African American Social & Cultural Organization, the West Hartford Initiative for Racial and Ethnic Diversity, the Town of West Hartford and the West Hartford Public Schools are annual sponsors of the event.  West Hartford Community Television will televise and replay the event on Comcast Channels 5 and 95.
