Teh Hartt Steelband

The Hartt Steelband presents an evening of Caribbean music, featuring works by the legendary steel drum artist, composer, arranger, and band leader, Andy Narell.  Hartt alumnus and faculty member Murray Mast joins the band as featured artist.  Narell’s landmark compositions are challenging, captivating, and hauntingly beautiful – and very rarely presented in one evening.  The ensemble performs on hand-crafted steel drums (or “pans”) created from finely tuned 55-gallon oil barrels by Trinidad-native Clifford Alexis and Hartt alumnus Kyle Dunleavy.
