Ex-Dentist To Serve Jail Time For Illegally Prescribing Drugs

The former West Hartford dentist made a plea deal on charges that he illegally prescribed oxycodone.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Peter Delaney, a former dentist from West Hartford, will be sentenced to 15 years in prison, suspended after serving six years, for illegally prescribing oxycodone, according to the Hartford Courant.

The Courant reports Delaney, 48, will also be sentenced in April to five years of probation, during which time he won’t be allowed to practice dentistry under a plea deal.

Delaney was found to be illegally prescribing painkillers to another West Hartford man who was charged with robbing a bank in East Granby twice, according to the Courant.
