Free Backpacks Available From West Hartford Organization
'Concerned Parents of Color of West Hartford' is hosting a special back-to-school giveaway event at West Hartford Town Hall on Sunday.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — The clock is ticking on summer for local schoolchildren and one local organization dedicated to equality and inclusion is looking to make a difference as school starts.
"Concerned Parents of Color of West Hartford" is hosting its annual Community Back-to-School Book Bag Giveaway on Sunday, Aug. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or while supplies last.
The event will take place outside by the West Hartford Town Hall auditorium, 50 S. Main St.

Each book bag will include one notebook, two folders, one pack of crayons and pencils. All students are welcome.
The organization is looking for donations to help with the effort.

"Concerned Parents of Color of West Hartford" is a local organization dedicated to "advocating for equity, equality, representation and accountability through activism," according to its website.
