WEST HARTFORD, CT — Connecticut Natural Gas Company Wednesday said it will be replacing about 1,400 feet of gas main in West Hartford as part of an ongoing capital program. The main will be installed underground along Farmington Avenue.

The project is designed to help provide "further efficiency and resiliency on the natural gas system and meet the community’s growing energy demands," officials said. CNG has been working with neighbors along the route "to ensure that all improvements are performed safely and with minimal disruption to the many restaurants, residents and those who rely on this road for their business, pleasure and travel."

Work is slated to begin on or near March 20 and continue over the course of several weeks until the project is completed, officials said. Work will be on tap for Sunday through Thursday, from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m., officials said.
