Gibson Cruises To 15th House Nomination In Dem Primary

WEST HARTFORD/BLOOMFIELD, CT — An incumbent state representative easily survived a primary challenge in Democratic party ranks Tuesday and earned a spot on the November ballot.

State Rep. Bobby Gibson, D-Bloomfield, a three-term incumbent serving the 15th House District, which includes parts of West Hartford and Bloomfield, defeated Bloomfield Registrar of Voters Jennifer A. Marshall-Nealy.

Gibson won the primary 1,860-793, garnering slightly more than 70 percent of the vote.

In West Hartford, Gibson garnered 66 votes to Marshall-Neely's 55 votes, while in Bloomfield, the bigger town in the district, he received 1,794 votes to his opponent's 738.

In November, Gibson will face off against GOP challenger Quentin Johnson of Bloomfield for the seat in Hartford.
