Good Friday, Easter Impacts Announced In West Hartford

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Town officials Thursday unveiled a series of Good Friday and Easter holiday impacts on town services and schools

• Municipal facilities, including West Hartford Town Hall, libraries, the community center, and senior centers are closed on Friday, March 29, 2024, in observance of the Good Friday holiday.

• Trash collection will remain on schedule with no delay.

• The public libraries are open on Saturday, March 30, but will be closed on Easter Sunday, March 31.

• The Yard Waste & Recycling Center will be open, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (annual permit required to dispose of items). Saturday hours resume April 6, 7 a.m. to noon. The public works office at 17 Brixton St. will hold special Saturday pick-up and purchasing of permits on April 13, April 27, May 18, May 25, June 8, and June 15, from 7 a.m. to noon.

• Veterans Memorial Skating Rink will host a public skating session on Friday, March 29: from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. and DJ Skate from 7:10 to 8:30 p.m. No public skate sessions on Saturday, March 30, or Sunday, March 31.

• Cornerstone Aquatics Center is also open. View the pool schedule or call the front desk at 860-561-8270 to see when the best time for your visit is. Cornerstone will be closed on Easter Sunday, March 31.

• Westmoor Park farm hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and park trails and grounds hours are open 8 a.m. to dusk.

Meanwhile, West Hartford public schools are closed on Friday, March 29, for Good Friday.
