WEST HARTFORD, CT — Two West Hartford high school students are working hard this year to raise money to help those dealing with cancer.
Hall High School Students Leah Berey and Harper Clancy have created Team Stand T.A.L.L. (Titans Against Leukemia & Lymphoma) as part of this year’s Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) Student Visionary of the Year (SVOY) program.

The SVOY initiative is a seven-week leadership development program for high school students from Feb. 2 to March 22 to raise money for blood cancer research and patient care.
Blood cancer is the most prevalent form of childhood cancer.

Since its inception, LLS has invested more than $1.6 billion in blood cancer research and patient care.
Because cancer cells in the blood are easier to access and study than those in solid tumors, blood cancer research has played an instrumental role in advancing other cancer treatments.
