Hamden Man Charged In WeHa Parking Lot Rampage Gets Aug. 3 Court Date
West Hartford police said the 19-year-old was driving around a store parking lot, terrorizing pedestrians in the process.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — A 19-year-old Hamden man will appear in court next week to face charges related to a bizarre incident in the parking lot of Trader Joe's on New Britain Avenue.
The West Hartford Police Department has charged Hamden resident Hazrat Omar Azimi, 19, with 10 counts of second-degree breach of peace and one count of reckless driving.
He will appear in Hartford Superior Court on Aug. 3, according to online court records.

According to the WHPD, the department received several 911 calls at about 9 p.m. Thursday, July 20, about a vehicle that nearly hit several pedestrians in the parking lot.
When officers arrived on scene, police said, they noticed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and they conducted a motor vehicle stop.

Azimi was released on a $5,000 bond and will appear in court Aug. 3, according to police.
"We are extremely thankful for the witnesses who reported the incident, and for the quick response of the officers," wrote the WHPD. "Fortunately, there were no injuries or damage that occurred from this reckless behavior."
