Help Sought To Paint Special West Hartford Mural
Donations are being collected so the town can put up a mural honoring the local deaf/hard-of-hearing community.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Efforts to paint a mural honoring the local deaf and hard-of-hearing community are taking shape, with the public being asked to help out.
The mural will be painted on a highly visible wall above the east entrance of the Noah Webster Library in Blue Back Square and will "reflect pride, resilience, and inclusion," according to the town.

So far, planning and fundraising are underway.
"For years, the West Hartford Public Schools’ Deaf Services Team has been dreaming of a way to highlight West Hartford’s vibrant Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) community, and we are excited to share that with the help of renowned mural artist Michael Rice and collaboration with many DHH organizations, it is all coming together," wrote the town.

Meanwhile, Sustainable CT has offered its civic crowdfunding platform, Patronicity, to help raise $6,000 by March 7.
Sustainable CT will match the goal, bringing the total to $12,000 to cover the project cost.
"We need your help. Any amount is welcome," wrote the town.
