Home Overrun With Clutter? West Hartford Program Can Help You

The town is offering a free, 16-week support group for West Hartford residents to help them combat clutter and/or hoarding.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — The town is offering folks a special program for those who feel like they're a hostage to all of those trinkets and items accumulated over the years.

Called the "Buried in Treasures Workshop," the program is a free 16-week, self-help and support group for people who want help with compulsive acquiring, saving, and hoarding tendencies.

Participants will receive support from others with similar struggles.

Each session will focus on a chapter from the book: "Buried in Treasures."

The group meets Tuesdays from 1 to 2:15 pm, starting Tuesday, Jan. 14, in a private meeting room at West Hartford Town Hall, 50 S. Main St., West Hartford.

Registration is required as space is limited and the program is only open to West Hartford residents.

"This group offers a judgment-free environment for people with hoarding behavior
who are ready to make a change. Please call to find out if this group is for you," reads an announcement from the town.
