Iconic Manufacturer To Move HQ From Farmington to West Hartford
Otis says it will relocate its headquarters office from Farmington to West Hartford in 2027 while keeping its Connecticut workforce.
WEST HARTFORD/FARMINGTON, CT — Otis confirmed Monday that it plans to relocate its headquarters office from Farmington to West Hartford in 2027, while maintaining its Connecticut workforce.
The elevator and escalator manufacturer said it will lease office space at 29 S. Main St. in West Hartford as part of the move.
"Our presence and employment in Connecticut will not be affected," an Otis spokesperson said in a statement.

The company's current headquarters office is located at 1 Carrier Place in Farmington, where employees include the office of the CEO and global functional teams in human resources, sales and marketing, communications, investor relations, digital technology, finance, accounting, and legal.
Otis said it currently leases the Farmington property.

"We would expect any sale of that property to respect the terms of our lease," the company said, referring to reports that the building has been listed for lease or sale.
The company said the relocation is part of an ongoing effort to evaluate its operations.
"We continuously assess our business operations and explore opportunities that support our strategic initiatives, help us grow and better serve our colleagues and customers, and operate more efficiently," the statement said.
According to the company, Otis has approximately 1,000 employees based in Connecticut.
The move is expected to take place in 2027.
Otis did not announce a specific relocation timeline or indicate whether all Farmington-based employees will move to the new West Hartford office.
