Infant Dies From Injuries Sustained In Fall: West Hartford PD
Police said a parent has been charged and is being held in lieu of a $1.25 million bond.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — An infant died from injuries sustained after a fall inside a home earlier this week, police said.
At 11:21 p.m. on Dec. 3, police received a call reporting a medical emergency at a home in West Hartford. Police said an infant sustained injuries from a fall while in the care of a parent.
The child was taken to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center by ambulance. Police said they initiated an investigation and learned on Dec. 4 that the infant died as a result of injuries sustained in the fall.

An arrest warrant was obtained for the child's father, Grant McAuslan, 34, police said. He is charged with first-degree manslaughter and risk of injury to a minor. He is being held in lieu of a $1.25 million bond. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
