WEST HARTFORD — With the issue of the interim superintendent of schools settled, West Hartford School officials will now be turning to the search for a permanent education chief.

The West Hartford Board of Education on April 5 officially named Andrew Morrow the interim schools chief. He has been serving as the town’s assistant superintendent for administration.

Morrow was the principal at Bristow Middle School until 2014, when he was named to his current position.

According t0 the board's action, Morrow's will serve as interim superintendent until the end of June 2023, or earlier if the search committee hired a new superintendent.

The school board determined the search committee would consist of all seven board members.

In February, West Hartford Superintendent of Schools Tom Moore announced he would be leaving the local system to take a position in the Chicago suburbs.

Moore became superintendent in November 2013. Moore notified parents that he would be leaving at the end of this school year.
