K-9 Catches Burglary Suspect Hiding Under Vehicle: West Hartford Police

The man is accused of burglarizing vehicles during the overnight hours.

West Hartford Police have charged a Hartford man with burglarizing vehicles during the overnight hours after he was tracked down by a K-9 while hiding under a vehicle.

Carlos Trinidad, 29, of 280 Collins Street, Apt. 412, was arrested at about 4:40 a.m. on Sept. 13 on Richard Street.

West Hartford Police said Trinidad was suspected of burglarizing vehicles and when he was approached by officers, he fled the scene on his bike.

Trinidad left his bike and coat and was caught by a K-9 hiding under a vehicle, according to police.

Police said Trinidad was in possession of a stolen laptop computer and a screwdriver.

Trinidad was arrested on charges of third-degree burglary, interfering with an officer, possession of burglar’s tools and leaving motor vehicle w/o brake.

He was held on a $25,000 surety bond and is due in court on Sept. 24.
