Local Teams Struggle in Basketball, Hockey Tournament Action

Tuesday was a brutal evening for north central Connecticut teams in the CIAC state basketball and ice hockey tournaments, as just five of 17 teams from the area emerged victorious.

Northwest Catholic boys basketball advanced in Class M by beating Brookfield, 71-50.

The town of West Hartford suffered a double loss, as Northwest Catholic girls basketball fell to Capital Prep, 61-43 in the Class L quarterfinals, and Conard ice hockey came up short against East Haven, 5-2.
