Major Arts Festival Planned By West Hartford Art League

WEST HARTFORD, CT — One of the larger arts festivals will take place this weekend in West Hartford courtesy of the West Hartford Art League.

The organization's third annual Juried Fine Art Festival will take place Saturday, Sept. 9, and Sunday, Sept. 10, at the league's grounds at 37 Buena Vista Road.

It will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 9 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The event promises a relaxing day of art activities, food, fun and exhibits of all artistic mediums.

In addition, the free event will showcase an eclectic and tasty array of food trucks that will be selling culinary wonders and refreshing libations for all.

For those musically inclined, live music will be performed both afternoons and for the children, there will be a heaping helpings of free kids art activities led by WHAL instructors.

Throw in raffles and, hopefully, good weather and the makings for a perfect day out are likely.

On Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a parking shuttle at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2080 Boulevard.

In addition, there is parking across the street of the art league, on the street and at the art league's smaller lot near the Brick Schoolhouse.
