1 Dead As Tractor-Trailer Slams BMW In West Hartford: Police: UPDATE
The early morning crash Monday closed I-84 in West Hartford for several hours.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — A tractor-trailer slammed into a BMW sedan early Monday morning on Interstate 84 in West Hartford, killing the out-of-state driver of the car, state police said.
According to Connecticut State Police, the accident happened at 1:28 a.m. Monday on I-84 East near Exit 44.
The crash victim has been identified as Tamek Nelson Skinner, 30, of New York, N.Y.

According to state police, a tractor-trailer owned by Northeast Great Dane of Hillsborough, N.J., being driven by a 46-year-old Marietta, Ohio, man was traveling on I-84 East in the right lane of three lanes.
Meanwhile, a BMW 320 sedan being driven by Skinner was also traveling in the right lane of three on I-84 East, police said.

According to state police, the tractor-trailer slammed into the rear of the BMW, with both vehicles "stuck together" in the right shoulder.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt and declined medical evaluation at the scene.
Skinner was rushed to Hartford Hospital in Hartford, where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m., police said.
The crash is under investigation.
