WEST HARTFORD, CT — A major donation has been made to the University of St. Joseph Bruyette Facilities Fund.

On Nov. 9, Brian J. Mylod, Joe Spalluto, and John Duffy presented USJ President Rhona Free with a check for $500,000 to establish the Bruyette Facilities Fund, which will support improvements and upkeep of the Bruyette Athenaeum and the Bruyette Natatorium on the USJ campus.

Mylod, Spalluto, and Duffy spearheaded a fundraising effort in order to recognize the leadership of Kathleen Barry Bruyette and her late husband, Gene Bruyette.

Mylod remarked, "Gene Bruyette was a founder of the financial services firm Keefe, Bruyette and Woods and many current and past members of that firm credit Gene and Kathy with their professional success. We were looking for a way to say thank you for all they have done. Because philanthropy and University of Saint Joseph have been priorities in their lives, we chose to make a contribution in celebration of their generosity."

Three generations of the Bruyette family, Trustees, friends and donors gathered on campus for the presentation and a celebratory luncheon.
