Major West Hartford Road Projects Start Next Week, Find Out Where
Town officials said road closures and detours are expected across town.
WEST HARTFORD, CT — The Town of West Hartford will begin its first round of road resurfacing projects during the week of Monday, May 10, as part of its annual paving program.
Town officials said West Hartford maintains 217 miles of roadway and averages about 8.25 miles of paving work each year, including reconstruction and repaving projects.
Roads identified in extremely poor condition are prioritized for resurfacing.

The first phase of paving is expected to include:
- Prospect Avenue, from Park Road to Kane Street
- Farmington Avenue, from Whiting Lane to Prospect Avenue
- Mountain Road, from Farmington Avenue to Glenwood
- Crestwood Road, from South Main Street to Webster Hill Boulevard
- Cortland Street
- Cortland Circle
- Vine Hill Road
Because of anticipated traffic impacts, resurfacing work on Prospect Avenue will take place overnight.

Town officials said the work is expected to include approximately one week of milling followed by about two weeks of paving.
Road closures and detours will be in place during construction, and motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes.
