Man Charged With Armed Robbery In West Hartford

The man was arrested following a lengthy investigation, according to police.

WEST HARTFORD, CT — Police have arrested Rudy John, 36, in connection to the armed robbery of a Shell Gas Station in West Hartford in May. Following a lengthy investigation, John was identified as the suspect in the armed robbery of the Shell Gas Station, located at 195 Prospect Avenue, on May 26 and police obtained an arrest warrant. John turned himself in to the New London Police Department on Sept. 12.

John is accused of implying he had a gun while demanding money during the robbery. The clerk opened the register and John reached over and took an unknown amount of money before fleeing the store, according to police. John, of no certain address, was charged with second-degree robbery, second-degree threatening and sixth-degree larceny. He was held on a court-set bond of $250,000.
