Man Wanted In West Hartford Charged With DUI, Gun Possession: PD

Orange police say when officers went to serve the warrants, the accused was attempting to leave his driveway while under the influence.

ORANGE, CT — An Orange resident, who is wanted in West Hartford and Stratford on outstanding warrants, was arrested as he was trying to exit his driveway while under the influence, police said.

On Jan. 30, Orange police officers responded to a Derby Milford Road home to serve two arrest warrants on Anthony G. Villano, 59, originating from the West Hartford Police Department, police said.

Officers observed Villano exiting his driveway in his vehicle and made a motor vehicle stop, police said. Officers discovered Villano operating his vehicle under the influence and also located a firearm on the front passenger seat, police said.

Subsequently, he was taken into custody and charged with DUI, second-degree reckless endangerment, and possession of a firearm while under the influence. It was also discovered that he had an active arrest warrant out of Stratford, police said.

Once Villano posted his bond in Orange, he was released to the Stratford Police Department for processing, police said. His bond in Orange was set at $5,000.
